The Corinthian Otters is an independent youth sailing club with its own constitution and flag officers. The membership currently stands at 146, with young people aged from 7 to 18.
Members of the Corinthian Otters sail in single-handed Optimists and Lasers, and in two-man Cadets and 420’s. Training for the younger members starts on a pond in the Otter Optimists, with new sailors launching themselves onto the river during their Regatta week in July. The Otters have many opportunities throughout the year to train in different fleets providing vital experience and enabling a natural migration between the fleets if desired. Training takes place on Saturdays with racing on Sundays for some fleets.
Members of the Otters have won national championships, sailed around the world and competed at almost every level of national and international sailing, but our main objective is to teach a child to love the water and to enjoy sailing on our beautiful river.
